Sapienza University of Rome is one of the oldest universities in the world. With some 110,000 students enrolled each year, of which 9,000 are foreign students, and more than 3,000 professors and researchers, Sapienza is also the largest university in Europe. It offers a vast array of courses including 287 degree programs, 85 PhD courses, over 190 professional courses and several specialization schools, run by 58 Departments and 11 Faculties. It also counts with a School for Advanced Studies. History Anthropology Religions Art History, Media and Performing Arts (SARAS) Department was established in 2018 with the merger of the Departments of History, Culture, Religions and History of Art and Entertainment. This fusion, which took place within the framework of the University’s restructuring, gave rise to a broad and articulated scientific and didactic unit in the field of the humanistic and social disciplines. This broad convergence has as its common basis the study of documents and sources (written, visual, monumental, material, oral and media, landscape), historical investigation, philology and interdisciplinarity.

Located near the heart of downtown Milwaukee, Marquette University is a private Jesuit research university and the largest private university in Wisconsin. Established by the Society of Jesus as Marquette College on August 28, 1881, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and offers a comprehensive range of majors in 11 nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools. The university has 11,294 students. The Department of Theology functions within the University to investigate and understand the Catholic tradition, its relation to other Christian communions, and other world religions. The Department currently numbers nineteen tenure-track faculty publishing and teaching in the areas of Judaism and Christianity in antiquity, historical theology, systematic theology, and ethics. The department has long had a strong tradition in the study of Early Christian Theology and Patristics.

École Pratique des Hautes Études
Founded in 1868, the École Pratique des Hautes Études has a relevant and worldwide recognized role in the French higher education and research landscape. EPHE – PSL is the only French institution offering training covering all ancient writings and languages and all fields of Mediterranean antiquity and its cultural areas, based on very high-level teaching, particularly in palaeography, cultural and intellectual history, and hagiography. The Religious Sciences Section, with its more than 60 teachers-researchers, studies religious facts from a secular perspective. The research ranges from Antiquity to the contemporary world, in all cultural areas, and brings together a wide range of disciplines: anthropology, art and archaeology, law, history, philosophy, sociology, making this section, for the extent and multiplicity of the fields studied, an important place in the networks for the study and observation of religion.
